Citibank is currently blocking usage of my credit card. I've called numerous times today to request them to stop blocking use of my credit card. Each time I've tried to have them correct it, they said that they've unblocked it. Now when I call their customer support number, they quickly tell me the system is being updated and immediately hang up on me. I've called several times and several times they've told me that the system is being updated and hang up before I can say anything. The web site is also down now. This isn't the first time that I've experienced this.

Do not get this card. They charge interest from the date of purchase so even if you pay the bill in full by the due date you will get a bill the following month for the interest charged on the previous months purchases. I payed my account in full in May and received a bill in June with an interest payment due. I called CitiCard and they tried to explain why that was. It's a bunch of ***. I have NEVER had a card that charges interest from date of purchase. I'm sure this is in their fine print but now I know how they can afford to give air miles.

I must say looking through a lot of these disputes not many have read their card agreement. There's a lot of technicalities to a dispute, and knowing the different between a true "fraudulent" transaction, and an actual "billing dispute" people must understand that if you hand your credit card to an entity, they have the rights to bill you. That specific charge is not fraud, especially if you 'click to accept' the merchants terms and conditions. For example, if you purchase a sample or trial of any kind, and don't cancel within the merchant's terms and timeframe, and they bill you again the next month or so until you finally check it, those charges are authorized. You didn't cancel the subscription on time. Another thing that's most important is claim and defense disputes, if you order something that's not as described, we can't just take verbal word for it. You have to get a document from a similar merchant that does the same line of work, in writing, state what the first merchant did wrong and how much it cost to fix it. If your car gets messed up after its fixed, send us real, tangible evidence, not something someone in your household emailed or wrote to us. There's a lot people don't think about. You can't dispute restaurant charges, unless you were over billed, you can't eat your cake and get a refund too. With any dispute we always have to have a customer attempt to work with the merchant. You have to attempt to return the merchandise, like I said, there's so much to it. It's not an easy process. You're better off trying to work with the merchant as much as possible.

I closed Citicard because I was not able to use it outside USA. The security level was set super high so no transactions went through, even though I set travel notifications clearly. I closed the card in September 2014. Several months later I found (Jan 2015) that I have a balance and interest was charged. The balance was because Foreigh transaction fee arrived 2 weeks after I closed the credit card. That is understandable. But why Citi did not email me alert that I set up on my account or mail or any other way. It silently charges me fee month after month without letting me know. I accidentally found out by logging in to a closed account. Shame on the service. Never do business with Citi again.

I held a citi. AT&T card for 24 years and never had a problem or dispute. Late last year, there was an obviously fraudulent charge on the account: $271 to T-mobile. I discovered later that the fraudulently purchased product was delivered in Florida. I live in Vermont. You would think that fact would be sufficient to support the credibility of my claim. At first, my amount was credited to my account. But, afler a couple weeks, I received an email from Citi stating that a letter had been recieved from T-mobile with cerlain informatuin and the credit to my account was being reversed. I was to sign a satatement that I had not authorized the charge after which they would "investigate". The only inference to be made is that they had some kind of smoking gun and I was considered guilty until proved innocent. To add insult, they denied me access to my online account by garbling my user name. Turns out that the smoking gun was that someone named Thom had signed for delivery of the package in Florida. My name is Thomas or Tom. Their "investigation" consisted of an exchange of multiple letters between Citi and T-mobile The whole thing was absurd. After several weeks, I got weary of being treated as a criminal. I was particulaly angry about being locked out of my online account, the lack of communication, and particularly the lack of concern for me as a "valued customer". I cancelled the card and decided to accept the loss of $271 as a valuable lesson.
