What has happened to Citi credit card (citicard) customer service. Used to be tops in my book even dealing with extraordinary issues while standing in line at HSBC Bank (Hong Kong) by cell phone.

I recently called to inquire about an issue involving seeing 5-6 "recurring charges" on my online web account page that were incorrect; either should have been disputes I had resolved with Citi's help; or b) simply incorrect should have been one time charges not recurring charges.

1. I called and spoke with a Citi representative in the US calling the number on the back of the card 866 766 2484. She said I needed to talk with Citi fraud group and they would be giving me a call.

2. Received call from "Robert B.

Smith" (Indian accent) didn't receive but he left a voice mail and said to call a number he left.

3. I called the number Robert B. Smith" provided and an Indian lady answered, I asked where she was sitting and she said someplace in India I didn't write it down.

She could not figure out what I needed. Lost connection.

4. Called back several days later, could not resolve.

5. Called US customer service again (location Maryland) and after explaining she said she needed to transfer me to Citicard Fraud division...

she did and it was again in India talked to a lady about why I was calling ie., recurrent charges showing on my account, interaction with Citi Fraud division etc. She transferred me to a man assume same location ... all speaking India English difficult to follow ... he started explaining how their live fraud detection worked I would get text messages and telephone calls etc.

... I said I know how it works but asked the question do I have active fraud alerts at this moment and he said no. He could not answer why I had recurring charges showing on my credit card account that were not really recurring charges. 6.

After this commenting I will go back in and look to see if the recurring charges have been removed. If not I have to start ALL OVER AGAIN.

I have never had such a headache with any customer service group of a company I deal with. My question is "what in the blank &^&*% happened to Citi/Citicard???"

No settlement offer or hardship offer to lower my 29.74% APR | Citicards in Atlanta, Georgia

Last year, I tried to settle my account with Citicards. The customer service at citicards stated they can't offer me that option to settle my account. This year, I tried to do the same and I was denied. I asked to settle my account and my APR is still %29.74. Im going thru hardship due to loosing my job. I feel like I can't afford having this credit card and I can't seem to get rid of it. This company doesn't help at all. Chase is the way to go. Chase offers settlements and their hardship program is reasonable for someone that loses their job. If you're thinking of applying to citicards be aware you might be stuck with them for years to come they offer zero settlements.

Citicard closed my account by mistake | Citicards

Citicard sent me a letter that I had contacted a lawyer and I should call them with more information on how they could contact the lawyer. I never contacted a lawyer, but they closed my account. They said, "Oh, we are sorry for the inconvenience and are trying to reopen your account. It will take 3-5 days if we can open it." I have been with them for 13 years and have always paid off my account every month, it took them but a few strokes of the keyboard to close it, but they say maybe they will be able to reestablish the account in 3 - 5 days. Meanwhile my son, who lives in a different state; my wife; and I can not make necessary purchases with the Visa card. When I asked for a supervisor and a telephone number of someone I can call to complain and request this issue get expedited, I get, "Sorry, there is no number." I am now going to look for a different visa card that has good perks. When companies get big (like Citi - they forget to got them there). Unfortunately, we are in limbo till I can get replacement cards .

Absolutely lousy log on application | Citicards

EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to log on to pay my bill, I am locked out. It says I have an incorrect log on. I then proceed to verify my identity and it says I don't know who I am! I know it is the system because I have a password saver that logs all my passwords and it's beyond reason that it happens EVERY time for over a year. I have had to change it many times just to get back on. I only used the card to transfer a balance for no interest for a long period. Cannot wait until I'm done with it....at least that is if I can log on to pay it off!

Early fraud detection | Citicards

I applied for a citi double cash back credit card. I got a letter that it was approved and I would receive my card in 7 to 10 business days. However, before I received my card, I get another letter saying the early fraud detection had blocked my card due to a transaction that needed approval. There was a number that I had to call for details. I had not received my card and did not even know my number yet. When I called the number, I was told that I had to send my SSN and other personal details by postal mail or FAX. I refused to send that for my ID protection. I received my card after a couple of days, but could not use it. I called again and was told I had to send that information "by FAX or postal mail". I asked them to close the account and destroyed the card. What is going on here? First of all, the transaction seems fraudulent since it happened before I received a card I don't have any other citi credit cards. Next, in these days of ID theft, they insisted that I send personal info via postal mail or FAX. I wasn't even told what transaction led to the early fraud detection block.

Citi Cards closed accounts arbitrarily | Citicards

I have been a CitiCards customer for 15 years and had several credit card accounts. my FICO is in the 800's, never been late and used the cards often. My limit had just been raised in one account without my asking s obviously I was a good credit risk. Citicards also wiped out my accumulated cash back as well as the other points. No reason was given other than a letter from the Executive Team in South Dakota stating they have closed the accounts with no email or phone number or name who to contact. Nothing whatsoever!! t was embarrassing to have tried to pay for merchandise and find that all my cards were rejected just like that. There is absolutely no reason for their action, none. So what gives, why would they treat a customer in good standing like that??? I'm bewildered and extremely upset!!!!

I have had issues with my costco citicard online payments since day 1 of the switch from American Express. The first payment appeared to go through. When I logged in to pay the 2nd month, it would not let me pay. I called customer service and was told my first payment did not go through to inaccurate account information and once I log in and Correct the account info everything would be fine. He then proceeded to tell me there would not be any charges associated with the incident. I go online to "correct"the account info only it wouldn't let me as the exact same account (identical account number) was already saved. I tried 3 times and triple checked for accuracy each time. Every time same message. So clearly my original entry was accurate. Nevertheless, still couldn't pay my bill online. Finally the next month I was able to pay successfully online but discovered a fee had been charged. Now we are back to a malfunctioning website. I have tried to log in multiple occasions on separate days with an error message each time.
